My interest in BSL came from my uncle and began around the start of the 1990's.

Having completed Signature (formerly known as CACDP: Council for the Advancement of Communication with Deaf People) level II BSL and having passed their Deafblind Interpreting qualification, I then decided to attend Bristol
University to train as a Sign Language Interpreter.

I have been fully qualified since 2004 having additionally completed NVQ4 BSL/English Interpreting units.

I have a wealth of experience gathered from over the previous 8 years. This includes:

Legal Interpreting (court work at all levels, tribunal service, police interviews) during 5 years working at a specialist agency.
Education (up to postgraduate level)
Adults with special needs (including working with a deaf relay Interpreter) within a Care environment
Mental Health domain – both inpatient and outpatient
Medical appointments
Community
Television and Media (including Channel4 and the BBC)
Arts
Theatre

In fact, I have had experience of just about every possible domain (the only two areas where I lack experience being In-Vision and Religious).

I am a member of ASLI and am also registered with Signature via the NRCPD (National Register of Communication Professionals with Deaf and Deafblind People).

Outside of interpreting I am passionate about food, live music and climbing.
